Road #: BNSF 7406 Equipment: ES44DC Train ID: ---
Date: 2014-10-18 Location: Cajon Pass, CA Photo #: ---
Description: BNSF 7406 and three more GEs slowly lead a westbound marine stack train down Main Track #3 near Gish on BNSF’s Cajon Pass. It has been a busy day on Cajon, and an almost constant (albeit slow) procession of westbounds have been descending the 3% grades of main track #3 all day. Main track three still holds to the original alignment that the California Southern Railroad (a Santa Fe subsidiary) built over Cajon Pass in the 1880’s.
