For a short while, the roar of an eastbound manifest grinding its way up grade is mingled with the whine of dynamic breaks as a westbound stacker working hard to combat the effects of gravity slowly passes by. The moment will soon pass with each train going its own way, and tranquility will return to San Timoteo Canyon, at least for a short while.
